Course Goals and Objectives:

 

Dr. Susan Sergie: Pulp therapy on primary teeth

  • Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Identify important functions of primary teeth

    • Understand the multifactorial caries process

    • Explain the primary objective of pulp treatment

    • Know the characteristics of primary teeth

    • Understand the histological differences and its significance

    • Comprehend the pulp-dentin complex

    • Explain the factors affecting dentin-pulp complex response to stimuli in primary teeth

    • Understand clinical pulpal diagnosis

    • Differentiate between medicament agents

    • Perform pulp treatment procedures

    • Understand failures after vital pulp therapy

    • Summarize the findings for pulpotomy studies

 

Dr. Majd Alsaleh: Pulp therapy for immature permanent teeth

  • Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Diagnose pulp pathology in immature permanent teeth and the treatment necessary to preserve those teeth

    • Differentiate between those symptoms arising from vital or non-vital immature permanent teeth

    • Perform a thorough clinical examination including appropriate pulp tests

    • Perform the evidence based recommended treatment necessary for each diagnosis.

Dr. Willie Chao: Management of Children & Parents and Frequently Asked Dental Questions

  • The lecture participants should be able to:

    • Understand the management of pediatric dental emergencies and frequently asked questions by parents/caregivers

    • Understand the patient and parent behavior management techniques and treatment options

    • Understand the recommendations and resources provided by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Oariona Lowe: Dentistry for Special Needs Children

  • The lecture participants should be able to:

    • Define the characteristics of patients diagnosed with Autism, Down’s Syndrome, and Cerebral palsy

    • Describe oral manifestations characteristic of these patients

    • Learn behavior management techniques used to treat these patients

    • Understand why dental treatment of these patients require more attention and care.

Dr. Boris Zats: Head and Neck infections in Pediatric patients

  • Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Understand the etiology of head and neck infections in pediatric patients

    • Know the epidemiology of head and neck infections in pediatric patients

    • Understand the management of head and neck infections in pediatric patients

Dr. Qurrat-ul-anne Yousaf: Ethical dilemmas in patient care

  • Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Maintain balance between, as health care providers developing treatment recommendations for patients,

      • Professional ethical values

Dr. Kadambari Rawal: Geriatric Dentistry

  • At the completion of this lecture, participants will be able to:

    • Educate other dentists about the oral health needs and dental treatment of the Geriatric population

    • Understand the age related changes in the mouth

    • Identify the most common oral health care needs of the geriatric population

    • Fully comprehend the do’s and don’ts of geriatric dental treatment planning

Dr. Patricia DeVilliers: Pediatric Oral Pathology

  • At the completion of this lecture, participants will be able to:

    • Recognize the clinical presentation of common pediatric oral lesions

    • Identify the radiographic presentation of common intraosseous pediatric lesions

    • Formulate a differential diagnosis of common oral lesions in children

Conflict of Interest: None of the presenters reported any conflicts of interest

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Courses which do not receive sufficient enrollment are subject to cancellation. In the event a course is filled or cancelled, Cambridge Institute for Global Oral Health will refund the full tuition. A full refund, less a $500 administrative fee for each course registrant,  will be given for courses if written notification of withdrawal is received and confirmed 45 days prior to the date of the first course of the program.
